The presence gastrointestinal diseases due to parasitic infection are nearly 66 percent in Indian population. The less privileged class of the population living in rural areas and less developed part of cities is easy victims to the digestive diseases. This class constitutes nearly 80-85 percent of our total population which is supposed to get priority attention in our present policy of health, education and other development programmes. Cholera, Peptic ulcer, Amoebiasis, hookworm, ascariasis and giardiasis are the common types of infections found in Indian population.
